Once a year, starting the year Clips launches publicly, we publish a summary of the legal requests we received and how we responded. The first report comes out after launch. Clips is in early testing now.
We respond to valid legal requests as required by applicable law, and we report child sexual abuse material to NCMEC.
Private messages, group chats, their photos and voice notes, and calls are end-to-end encrypted, so their content is readable only on the devices in the conversation. Disappearing messages are deleted from our servers when their timer runs out.
We keep as little as the app needs to work: the email you signed in with, your birth year, your public profile and clips, who you follow, and when messages were sent. The privacy policy lists all of it.
