Clips is a local social app: short clips made by real people, ranked by where you are, and group chats to meet the people around you. These terms are short on purpose. Using Clips means you agree to them.
You must be at least 13. We ask for your birth year and nothing else about your age. If you are under 13 we do not create an account and we keep nothing.
You sign in with Google or Apple. No passwords, no phone numbers. You are responsible for what is posted from your account. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; that deletes your clips, photos, messages, and profile.
Every new clip and photo is checked by software (the frames, the sound, and the words) before it enters the feed. The following is removed: violence, gore, sexual content, hate, harassment, and the public shaming of private people (arrests, body-cam, someone's worst moment). Political and rage-bait content, and content that uses someone's death or tragedy for attention, stays visible to your followers and on your profile but is not distributed further. Reach is never limited secretly: you always see your post's status and reason, and you can appeal with one tap.
There are no creator payouts and no way to buy reach for a normal post. New accounts reach a limited audience until they've posted normally for about a week. A clip that starts spreading faster than that account's history supports is paused for review before it goes further. The feed is local: the more people near you use Clips, the more local it gets.
Local businesses, events, and gigs can pay to show a clip to everyone within a chosen radius for a chosen number of days. Boosts are labeled, reviewed by a person before they go live, and limited to things near the buyer. National advertising is not accepted. Boost purchases are final once the boost goes live. Chats never contain ads.
Group creators are admins and can remove members. Public groups are visible to people nearby. Be decent. Blocking someone hides you from each other everywhere in the app.
You own what you post. You give Clips a license to store, encode, display, and distribute it inside the app and on clip pages at clips.me, and to show a watermark on exports. The license ends when you delete the content, except for copies already shared by others.
Clips is run by a very small team and offered as is. We may change these terms; when we do, the date at the top changes and the app tells you.
If you own the rights to something posted on Clips without your permission, email [email protected] with the clip link, what you own, and a statement that you are the owner or act for them. We remove the clip promptly and tell the poster why. Accounts that repeatedly post others' work are closed. This address is also our designated agent for notices under the DMCA.
